The Villainous Bosses Mentoring System - Chapter 22 - Business (4)
Chapter 22 – Business (4)
Now that Su Tian had finally figured out what he was asking, she smiled and said, “My mom had tentatively set the price at $18 for a small one and $28 for a large one. The ones I bought today were the large ones. If it was just for you, a small one would be enough.”
Their store was for profit, of course she was going to charge him. Not to mention that they were made by her mother, she wasn’t going to be that generous about it. Besides, Su Tian didn’t think Boss Liu would accept the favor even if she would give them to him free of charge.
Wouldn’t you feel odd if someone was too overly nice to you for no obvious reasons?
Su Tian couldn’t be more right about that. When Su Tian named off the prices, Liu Kaiyan felt relieved. At least, they have reached an agreement temporarily.
“Then I want the small ones.” He was susceptible to advice. Pulling out a $20 bill and handed it over to her, he said, “I will pay you now.”
Su Tian wrinkled her nose and said, “But I don’t have any change on me.”

“That’s fine. Just give me my change whenever,” said Liu Kaiyan.
“Okay,” said Su Tian as she took the money from him.
Eh? She was now in business with Boss Liu. That was incredible. AND, he was the first customer of her family’s dessert shop!
Someone next to her asked again when the grand opening of the store was going to be. Su Tian gave the same answer, “Soon! In the next few days!”
That was because she wasn’t sure exactly when the grand opening day was going to be. Basically, the shop would open whenever He Qingwan got everything tidied up.
But most of the things in the store were already in order. Since everything was going as planned, it should be the next day or two.
When everybody over on this side couldn’t wait for the dessert shop to open up, there were also those who wished that the day would never come. Naturally that was the owner at Lui’s Walnut Cookies and his wife.
Around noon time, when the business was slow, Li Xiuyun had Lu Yaowei, her husband, watch the shop while she went to play mahjong.
During the game of mahjong, a few middle-aged women asked Li Xiuyun how much did she know about the dessert shop across from her.
Li Xiuyun harumped and said, “How could I find out anything about it? They sell western style pastries. Not something us normal folks could afford!”
Luo Cheng was a small city, the economy wasn’t too developed there. The average income for a worker there was around $1,000 a month. A $10 – $20 piece of dessert in Luo Cheng was considered a luxury item.
One of the women there said, “Aye, but my daughter mentioned something te-whatever, said it was very yummy. Old Wang’s daughter had it once and had been raving about it since.”
“Oh really? Then we must go try it out after it’s opened for business!”
“Sure! I wonder if they sell birthday cakes as well? My son’s birthday is around the corner. He has been whining about a birthday cake every day. But every time we’ve gotten him one, he complained about how disgusting it taste so we always ended up throwing the whole thing away after a few bites. If their dessert was good, I’ll get a birthday cake from them to try it out. So I wouldn’t have to throw my money away this time…”
A birthday cake would probably run around $100 on the low end!
Li Xiuyun gritted her teeth silently; she didn’t feel like playing mahjong anymore. She left half way through her game and, as soon as she stepped out of the mahjong place, she immediately made a phone call.
