Chapter 16 Two Families’ Meeting
Their car pulled up at the hotel. Lin Qing then remembered that she did not tell her parents and thus asked Mu Li: “Does my mother know the place?”
“I called her when you were asleep.”
“I see,” replied Lin Qing. She didn’t bother to ask how Mu Li got her mother’s phone number. She took a glance at the extraordinarily luxurious facade of the hotel, a slightly nervous expression rising on her face.
Mu Li gazed at such expression for a while. Lin Qing seldom had such emotions and was always composed. He tried to console her: “Don’t be nervous. My mother is not difficult to get along with.”
The subsequent meeting proved that it was not just consolation.
Brought up in an honorable family, Mu Li’s mother Shen Yuhe demonstrated her decent taste in dressing and speaking. Lin Qing was struck by her beauty at first sight.
Judging from the age of Mu Li, Shen Yuhe must be at least in her fifties.

However, she was well-preserved and looked like around forties.
She had the elegance and nobility which can only be developed through long term of well-off life.
Lin Qing felt ashamed of her own casual dress. Fortunately, his mother was indeed easy-going. She smiled kindly, rather different from those blue blood.
Mu Li introduced them to each other and Lin Qing politely greeted her: “Auntie, nice to meet you.”
Shen Yuhe was pleased with Lin Qing’s appearance and behavior. She nodded and said: “Shall we wait for your parents at the doorway?”
“That’s fine.”
Lin Qing agreed with a smile, standing quietly beside Mu Li.
Mu Li held the hand of his little girl. Lin Qing did not resist anyway, as if she did not realize it.
Shen Yuhe’s eyes shuttled between her son and the girl, concealing the glimmer of a smile in her eyes.
Soon, Lin Qing’s parents arrived.
They owned two restaurants that were quite popular in City A. Lin Qing’s mother was decisive and nimble. Admittedly she was not as elegant as Shen Yuhe, but was by no means inferior.
The two families extended greetings to each other and led by Mu Li into the hotel.
Mu Li’s father, Mu Yonghao, was already waiting in the booked box. Lin Qing’s father was stunned at seeing him.
Lin Qing noticed her parents’ unusual behavior and touched her mother’s arm: “Mom, what’s up?”
“Nothing important,” said Lin Qing’s mother, smiling.
The box was quite spacious and fine-decorated, with a good view of the backyard garden of the hotel. Mu Li walked into the box hand in hand with Lin Qing to greet his father.
Mu Yonghao was a very powerful man. His cold eyes and imposing manner made him invincible in this room. Lin Qing felt extremely nervous when standing in front of him. His quick glance made her palms sweaty.
“Dear,” Mu Li clenched Lin Qing’s hand, looking at her tenderly, “This is my father.”
Lin Qing hesitated for a while and uttered finally: “Uncle, nice to meet you.”
During this time, Shen Yuhe had settled the seats for Lin Qing’s parents and sat beside Mu Yonghao herself. She patted his hands intimately and said: “Relax. You’ve frightened the girl.”
Lin Qing’s palms were even wetter. Fortunately, Mu Yonghao nodded at her at this time and said: “Have a seat.” His tone was still rigid.
Mu Li and Lin Qing sat down next to each other. Courses were delivered to the table one by one.
Then, of course, parents from the two sides started talking.
Precisely speaking, Shen Yuhe and Mrs Lin started talking.
Mrs Lin told Shen Yuhe that her daughter did not have any boyfriend before and was in want of social experience, requesting Shen Yuhe to instruct her in future. Shen Yuhe also asked Mrs Lin to be patient if Mu Li did anything bad.
Mr Lin and Mu Yonghao were both leaders who talked little. However, the overall atmosphere was roughly good as the two women kept chatting.
Lin Qing didn’t speak much and buried herself in food most of the time. During this period, she couldn’t help thinking of Chen Qudong.
Long ago, she once fancied Chen Qudong may introduce her to his parents one day.
Now, she was meeting the parents of someone else–a man she had known for less than a day.
Probably lost in her fantasy, Lin Qing didn’t hear what her mother and Shen Yuhe were discussing.
Actually they were discussing the wedding of Mu Li and Lin Qing.
