Chapter 468: Chapter 462: Genius or Madman Part 2
Finn Lewis was taken aback. Wow… this person sure had a distinct character. Finn didn’t even know what to say. But was he afraid of such people? Of course not, regardless of how eccentric people were, they usually had substantial abilities. Both Finn and Jack Lewis quickly got into their cars, and then Finn had Olivia Thatcher follow Jack’s car, while he leaned back in his chair and contemplated.
“Olivia, are you sure these people are what we need?” Finn asked, after clearing his mind of random thoughts.
“The example he just mentioned was a highly extreme case. Other disturbed scientists may have different issues, but they are all within our control. It shouldn’t be a problem. I will make an assessment.” Olivia responded.
“Alright, I trust you.” Finn nodded in understanding.
“Don’t worry, sir. What we possess is not something scientists on earth can surpass through research. These scientists have impressive minds even among higher civilizations in the universe, but their background limits them. It ensures their achievements cannot transcend the constraints of their time, just like Albert Ainsworth and Tesla Mitchell from history.”
Finn shrugged, remaining silent. Others wouldn’t dare say it, but Tesla Mitchell was someone Finn had looked into. His inventions are still in use in modern society even though he was from the early last century. You can imagine how brilliant the man was. Many claimed he was a time-traveler, but even if he was, he likely was a scientist before the jump.
If you brought Finn back to that era before he had taken the intelligence potion, he probably wouldn’t have achieved much either. You need to carry out many things personally. For instance, in modern society, many people understand various principles, but merely understanding the principle doesn’t help unless you can execute it. If you can’t, it’s all talk.
Both cars sped through Celeston City for roughly forty minutes before they finally stopped. When Finn stepped out of the car and saw the building, he was completely stunned. Jack had begun to wave at him from ahead, “What are you staring at? Come on.”
“Jack, are you sure we’re at the right place?” Finn asked, pointing at a sign next to the main entrance.
“Of course, this is the right place.” Jack shook his head.
Finn looked at the sign once more: Celeston City Third Mental Hospital. Holy shit, this was the legendary Third Hospital. Are you sure the genius I need is in a hospital like this?
“What’s with that expression? Haven’t you heard the saying, ‘There’s a fine line between genius and insanity’?” Jack turned back to look at Finn.
“I have heard of it, but I’ve also heard another saying, ‘Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.’ Jack, are you sure his intelligence hasn’t been diminished in this place? Or are you going to tell me that this is a secret base you set up, disguised as a mental hospital, filled with geniuses?” Finn asked with a gloomy expression.
“You’ve been reading too many novels.” Jack rolled his eyes and walked toward the building. Finn, speechless, had no choice but to follow him inside.
As soon as he entered the yard, Finn saw something that left him speechless, a man about forty, dressed formally, was sitting there. About two meters away from him was a basin filled with water, in his hand was a fishing rod, with the hook placed in the basin. Clearly, this man was sitting there fishing.
As Finn passed by the man, he couldn’t help but say, “Hey, bro…”
The man looked up at him, “Don’t disturb my fishing.”
Finn slapped his forehead in exasperation and responded, “You can’t catch fish in a basin.”
“I know.” The man shot back with three words.
“You know?” Finn was taken aback by the reply.
“Yes, I know.” The man repeated.
“If you know, then why are you still fishing here?” Finn was beginning to feel a headache coming on.
The man looked sideways at Finn before saying, “Right now, I’m a lunatic. Lunatics, of course, have to fish in a basin. Is there a problem with your head?” After saying this, the man lowered his head and continued fishing.
This response left Finn completely stunned. Holy shit! Dammit! He cussed twice in his mind. He had definitely just been insulted! Speechless, he gazed at the man fishing. What the hell did he mean by saying ‘Right now, I’m a lunatic’? Holy shit.
“What are you trying to prove by arguing with him?” Jack had noticed Finn was lagging and walked back. He looked at the man behind Finn and observed Finn’s constipated expression.
“Jack, are you sure that he’s a lunatic?” Finn was speechless. Holy shit, any sane man would be infuriated by that previous sentence, right?
“Of course, I’m quite certain. And I have an idea of what happened. Rest assured, that middle-aged man is undoubtedly a lunatic. Even though I know 80 percent of your conversation with him ended up in your defeat, that’s normal. Someone else taught him that sentence. He only knows that much. If you turn around and leave, I guarantee he’ll stand up and laugh loudly.” Jack patted Finn on the shoulder.
Finn glanced at the middle-aged man who was seriously fishing. Speechless, he shook his head and followed Jack further into the building.
“Hahaha…” As Finn turned around, the laughter of the middle-aged man echoed from behind. Finn turned to look back. The man was hopping on one leg while laughing, resembling a grasshopper.
