- Chapter 221 - The General is Sick, He Just Needs a Good Beating (17)
The boy, stopped by Huo Jun, looks up and glares at him: “Who are you…”
He stops in the middle of his speech due to Huo Jun’s outfit and the fact that he is sitting beside his sister, which make it clear who he is.
“Are you General Huo?”
Huo Jun lowers his head and turns a bit unhappy to the boy around 11 or 12 years old who looks very alike his sister, as if he and his sister were made of one model. Because of that, General Huo decides he likes his brother-in-law.
“Brother-in-law.” His brows rise and he lets go of the boy.

“Your sister isn’t in a good shape so don’t rush at her like that.”
Qi Jun isn’t very afraid of him and doesn’t call him brother-in-law as he is told. Instead, he walks to Ah Zhao and looks at her up and down with worries.
“Sister, I was going to look for you. Hum, they didn’t let me!” He complains immediately.
“How have you been?”
He turns to look at Huo Jun and gets closer to Ah Zhao as he whispers: “Sister, General Huo looks fierce. Has he been good to you? If not, I’ll take you away with me. I have saved up.”
Huo Jun squeezes the armrest without any expression, imagining it is the boy under his grip.
Taking away his wife?
Does he think I can’t hear him when I’m so close?
Ah Zhao is a bit touched as she looks at the boy who is almost as tall as she is when she sits down. Qi Jun is probably the only one in this family who wishes for Qi Zhao’s happiness wholeheartedly.
She lowers her voice too and whispers back as if telling him a secret: “The general is good. He is very kind to me.”
Having made sure that his sister looks fine, more energetic than she was at home, Qi Jun walks to Huo Jun in a serious expression like a grown-up and calls him brother-in-law.
Huo Jun looks at the boy. “Good.”
It seems that he should give his young brother-in-law a gift for their first meeting.
However, he doesn’t have the habit to bring things with him. Feeling inside his pocket, he takes something off around his waist and passes it to Qi Jun.
Ah Zhao’s eyes widen. “What are you doing?”
Huo Jun says as a matter of fact: “A present for our first meeting.”
Raising the gun in front of Qi Jun, he asks: “Do you like it?”
Qi Jun’s eyes are glittering.
Almost every boy loves a gun.
He grabs it at so fast a speed as if he is a robber. He is so fond of it that he looks at it again and again, very excited.
“Do you know how to use it?” Huo Jun is in quite a good mood that his present is received with joy.
Qi Jun shakes his head a bit embarrassed. Born in a merchant family, he doesn’t have a chance to learn about guns.
“I’ll teach you when you come to my manor.”
“All right, thank you, brother-in-law!” Qi Jun speaks the term “brother-in-law” with more willingness this time.
Lord Qi, however, looks at the gun Qi Jun is holding, trembles with fear. “Well, General, Jun-er is too young to have something so dangerous…”
Huo Jun looks over, whose stare successfully shuts Lord Qi up.
He seldom wastes his breath with someone he doesn’t want to speak with.
Because of Qi Jun, Huo Jun and Ah Zhao stays for lunch.
Qi Ying is allowed to leave her bedroom and join everyone for the meal since it will be stranger if she isn’t seen at the lunch table.
She behaves herself at lunch without extra word or movement which makes Lady Qi relieved.
After lunch, Ah Zhao needs a rest as usual.
