Chapter 993: Chapter 995 Development Outward (5) Chapter 993: Chapter 995 Development Outward (5) Yang Mogui, who had been at an impasse, also walked out of the room. However, as she brushed past him, she glanced at Zhao Zihuan. His glasses, with their gold wire frames, reflected a glint of light. She didn’t know this man, yet she had the nagging feeling that he resembled someone from her past, whom she hadn’t seen for a very long time. But she couldn’t quite remember who that person was.
After passing by him, Yang Mogui hurried to catch up with her son, Qin Zhiyou. She didn’t bother wasting more words on him. Before leaving, she turned back to look at Lu Weixi, then, without another word, turned her head and walked out of the hospital room.
Once she left, her footsteps, which had been firm, faltered. She was aware that she had to maintain appearances outside, and it wasn’t until she got in the car with her son that she finally couldn’t help but ask, “So, you’re really planning to give up on the child?”
Qin Zhiyou didn’t respond, just furrowed his brow and opened his laptop. Yang Mogui offered another suggestion, “Or is it that things fell through with Lu Weixi, and she doesn’t want it? You can’t persuade her?”
Qin Zhiyou’s frown deepened, but still he offered no answer.
“It couldn’t be that, after the last time, something went wrong with her health, and she can’t have children anymore, could it?”
Qin Zhiyou closed his laptop and turned to look at her with a dispassionate voice, “If you don’t want to get out of the car, then change the subject.”
“Who do you think you’re talking to?” Yang Mogui glared at him, dissatisfied. Then she suddenly remembered something, “That doctor, who is he? Why do I feel like he’s particularly interested in our family affairs? You don’t seem to like him very much, do you?”
It was only then that Qin Zhiyou’s thoughts cleared and he remembered Zhao Zihuan.
At first, he hadn’t paid much attention to Zhao Zihuan, but it just so happened that whenever there was an issue, Zhao was always around, meddling. Qin wanted to investigate, but couldn’t find anything. The more this was the case, the more he found it strange.
Lately, his relationship with Lu Weixi had improved, and coupled with the fact that Lu’s mother wasn’t fond of him, he only visited the hospital to drop off things and quickly leave, seldom encountering Zhao Zihuan.
But Zhao’s appearance just then made it seem as if he had an ulterior motive.
A crisis had emerged in his relationship with Lu Weixi, and he couldn’t afford to let others take advantage of the situation. He had to be more vigilant.

Qin Zhiyou was right in his suspicions. After he and Yang Mogui left, Zhao Zihuan casually entered the hospital room as if nothing was amiss and checked on the patient’s condition.
He was smart enough not to mention her family issues, pretending to be oblivious, focusing only on discussing Lu’s mother’s health. Since airing one’s dirty laundry wasn’t preferable, and Lu’s mother did not engage in further conversation with her, Zhao Zihuan left after completing the examination. Lu Weixi stayed a while longer in the hospital room before departing.

But as soon as she stepped out of the hospital’s entrance, Lu Weixi encountered Zhao Zihuan. Perhaps both felt the awkwardness of the situation; neither said much more. Zhao Zihuan just smiled, “Aunt Lu’s condition is very stable, and she’s doing well at the moment.”
Lu Weixi nodded in response, “Thank you, Doctor Zhao.”
“No need to thank me, I’m just doing my duty. I wanted to mention, Aunt Lu’s condition doesn’t permit her to get agitated, so I hope you can try to keep things under control in the future.” Zhao Zihuan was tactful, discussing nothing beyond her mother’s health, to which they mutually nodded in silent agreement.
Standing in the hospital corridor, high above the deep garden, Lu Weixi suddenly spotted two people who looked a bit familiar–Cai Yiren’s mother and uncle.
Moreover, their relationship seemed to be uncomfortably close.
