- Chapter 282 - : Continued Life Against the Heavens
After completing the two tasks and receiving the title, Meng Fan had gained +10 Capture skills and +10 Wrestling skills. With the additional +3 Hand Speed and +3 Power, Meng Fan was really eager to fight with Wu Ji again. But unfortunately when he asked, Wu Ji had an emergency and was on his way back to Shanghai.
He learned from Lao Hei that Wu Ji had been promoting the spread of MMA in Huaxia.
The Feng Ji Dojo in Hangzhou used to be called Wufeng. Wu Ji became a shareholder last year, and managed to maintain a large portion of the existing faculty. Currently, he managed to change it into a MMA professional training facility.
This was a feat because MMA had only been known in the Huaxia region over the last couple years. It was difficult to promote this sport to Ha
Currently, most of the professional MMA training facilities were located in Shanghai. Wu Ji had also opened a similar dojo for MMA training there.
Feng Ji Dojo was considered an experimental facility that was introduced outside of Beijing and Shanghai, but the actual business at the time was not doing that great.
But after they introduced a professional training facility, Feng Ji’s administrative statistics grew rapidly. After all, it was run by professionals. When it came to peak combat training, no dojo in Hangzhou could beat Feng Ji. It was very difficult to transition to a professional level.

The last year at Feng Ji resulted in some very profitable numbers, which essentially gave Wu Ji another cash machine. It was an unexpected surprise.
If he didn’t run into Meng Fan, a suitable sparring partner, Wu Ji would have left for Shanghai two days earlier after processing some business in Hangzhou.
“He left?”
When he heard Wu Ji was already back in Shanghai, Meng Fan immediately lost interest. “That idiot must be scared silly of me. He didn’t even tell me he was leaving; probably scared I’ll pull him out for a last fight.”
Lao Hei heard Meng Fan muttering and began to laugh. “Why do I feel like you guys have developed a bond? Makes sense. If you are holding someone and tumbling around everyday, feelings are bound to appear. If I didn’t know you two savages better, I’d suspect you guys have already formed a relationship.”
Meng Fan heard this and sat on top of Lao Hei, beginning to shake. He chuckled. “Don’t you think what we have is called a real relationship?”
Lao Hei bridged his body to escape, fear on his face. “Master Meng, don’t forget, you’re now a man with a girlfriend. Don’t be so gay with me. Let me tell you, Lao Hei is not that kind of person!”
Meng Fan bellowed with laughter as he stretched. “I’m not teasing. Let’s call it a day. Oh, right, in the next few days, I have to leave for a while and won’t have time to come here. Take care of yourself. Once I return, I’ll come back to spoil you.”
“Where are you going? Are you following Wu Ji to Shanghai to continue your fight?” Lao Hei asked.
Meng Fan smiled and shook his head. After stretching, the two headed for the shower rooms. Lao Hei had planned to treat Meng Fan to lunch, but Meng Fan declined, saying he had some business to take care of and left.
The class had ended early today, and Meng Fan was able to head to Da Mei Studio after leaving the dojo. Coincidentally, he ran into FlatHeadBro once again, delivering milk tea and coffee. After chatting for a while, the guy left as urgently as he’d come.
“What have you been up to lately?”
Seeing Meng Fan in the studio, Qin Jiao asked him, slightly irritated. “Some professional elective professors were saying you’ve already missed several days of class, without excusing yourself either!”
This was a life and death situation, how could he have the heart to go to class? But Meng Fan didn’t dare say this out loud. He found some mediocre excuses that wouldn’t hold up, then told her he wanted to take a few days off.
Qin Jiao scrunched her brows. “You haven’t even explained why you’ve been skipping class lately, and you want to take more time off? And for a long time, too. Why don’t you just drop out?”
Meng Fan didn’t dare respond to this. He hurriedly explained that he had to go to Singapore to attend Meng Caitang’s award ceremony, then pounded his chest, promising that he would attend classes properly once he returned, and that he wouldn’t fail his exams.
In the end, Qin Jiao reluctantly agreed, despite being very unhappy. She waved her hands and told Meng Fan to get out of her sight.
“I’m not leaving. I want to eat dinner with you before leaving. I haven’t had dinner with my big sister in a long, long time!”
“Shoo shoo shoo, who’s your sister!”
“You!”
“How is your skin getting thicker and thicker!”
After polishing off a takeout meal ordered by Chen Daqiang, Meng Fan was finally able to leave Da Mei Studio satisfied. He thought about it, then turned to head for the Chocolate Factory. He didn’t plan to dub anything and just wanted to chat with Director Charlie and Lou Lan.
Back at school, Meng Fan then strolled to the studio eerily and chatted with the studio administrator, Ms. Chen Fu. Coincidentally, he also ran into Freckles.
He then went to his dormitory. Zhang Zhouwei and Chen Daqiang were still at the studio, and Xing Tage wasn’t back yet either. When he called him, Meng Fan heard gasping on the other end. Xing Ta Ge said he was exercising… so Meng Fan decided to take a stroll through the dormitories next door.
He didn’t know what he was feeling exactly, but he just wanted to see everyone he could.
At around eight, Wu Tong appeared at the exit of Hu Hang’s studio.
“Hungry.”
Wu Tong looped her arm through Meng Fan’s elbow and looked at him carefully. She slightly creased her brows. “What’s wrong? Something is on your mind.”
Meng Fan shook his head, then nodded. “I don’t know what to say. I just think life is so wonderful. Sometimes it’s dreamlike, sometimes it’s too real. But it’s still hard to differentiate between what’s real and what isn’t.”
Wu Tong smiled. “Why are you thinking of this all of a sudden?” She then waved her hand. “Holding hands is real, right? What, are you afraid that I’ll disappear after you get back from Singapore?”
Meng Fan had already told Wu Tong he would be going to Singapore.
He wanted to clarify that he was afraid that he himself would disappear after going to Singapore, but this wasn’t an easy sentence to say.
He then smiled. “I think I’m just too happy for my own good. Come on, let’s go eat.”
Wu Tong nodded. She still felt that Meng Fan was hiding something, but since he didn’t want to talk about it, she didn’t have any further questions. Wu Tong knew that after the two had started dating, their hearts had gotten closer. She didn’t require that their lives overlapped completely; sometimes, it was good to have some personal space and time away from each other. This would create a buffer for feelings between two people.
Meng Fan was thoroughly stuffed after just coming from a meal. The two then went off to watch a movie.
The next morning, they followed their morning run routine as usual. At noon, Wu Tong took the afternoon to eat lunch with Meng Fan before seeing him off at the airport. She only left after his plane departed.
December 10th, 18:35. The plane landed at Changi Airport in Singapore.
When he arrived, an alert sounded in Meng Fan’s head.
“Ding! You’ve triggered the task [Continued Life Against the Heavens].”
“The task requires you to survive until December 14th, 2019 and arrive in Japan to continue your unfinished life before reincarnation.”
“Upon completion, you will gain +10 points toward any attribute.”
