Chapter 1364: Chapter 1364: He’s Here (2)
Ye Qilan tried a sip of the soup and immediately furrowed his brow. The next moment, he spat it out.
This was undoubtedly the worst soup he had ever tasted–no competition!
“Tasty?” Su Hongxing asked gleefully, enjoying his misfortune.
Ye Qilan took a long moment before honestly replying, “It’s awful.”
What a pity that the soup he had spent hours stewing turned out to be so bad–a total waste of effort.
The worst part was, Su Hongxing probably had even less confidence in his cooking skills now.
“So, here’s the truth: when it comes to cooking, you have zero talent. From now on, stop torturing yourself, and more importantly, stop torturing our stomachs.” Su Hongxing shook her head with a laugh, pouring out all the soup he’d made.
After she finished pouring out the soup and turned around, she noticed that Ye Qilan’s expression didn’t look right.
She thought it was because she’d been too blunt, and that’s why he wasn’t happy. Later, Grandma Jiang told her that Ye Qilan had spent a full three hours making the soup.
Upon hearing that, Su Hongxing began to feel uneasy.
Ye Qilan had always been a bit of a macho man and absolutely loathed the kitchen. Now he was willing to learn, even spending his precious time outside of work on it, yet she hadn’t offered a single word of encouragement. Instead, she’d knocked him down–no wonder his face had darkened earlier.
Normally, he didn’t outwardly show his emotions. Even if he was upset, it wouldn’t usually be too obvious in front of her. Just like now, he was teaching Little Pudding how to read and write as if everything was perfectly fine.
Little Pudding was very bright. Since she hadn’t studied during the day, Ye Qilan made up for it in the evening. In just two hours, Little Pudding had completed a week’s worth of learning tasks.
“Honey, our daughter has a photographic memory,” Ye Qilan said with pride.
“Her memory has always been amazing,” Su Hongxing agreed with him. In the past, when she read bedtime stories to Little Pudding, she’d memorize them after just one reading.
Plus, the little girl was very intelligent, so lessons came easily to Little Pudding.
But it turned out that Su Hongxing underestimated her daughter. Little Pudding wasn’t just precocious–her speed of learning was such that she could achieve extraordinary results effortlessly.
“I won’t teach her anything over the next few days. After a week, I’ll test her again,” Ye Qilan mused thoughtfully.
Su Hongxing chuckled, “No need to test. She won’t forget even after a year. If you don’t believe me, go ahead and try–you’ll see I’m not lying.”
After Little Pudding went to bed, Su Hongxing glanced back at Ye Qilan and said, “I shouldn’t have made fun of you today. Although your cooking is truly not great, your effort to learn was sincere. Instead of encouraging you, I laughed at you–I hope you won’t hold it against me.”
Bringing up the matter, Ye Qilan couldn’t help but feel deflated. “Is my cooking really that bad?”

He had thought that navigating the business world was so effortless for him, so dealing with something as minor as cooking wouldn’t be a big challenge. But Su Hongxing’s reaction had dealt him a major blow.
“You tasted the soup yourself, didn’t you? I don’t think I need to elaborate,” Su Hongxing replied without being too blunt.
Ye Qilan began crafting an argument to defend himself. “That was just because I’ve only started learning. Once I practice more, I’ll naturally improve. I have confidence in myself!”
Su Hongxing looked at him in disbelief. “Are you saying you plan to keep going?”
“I believe there’s nothing in this world that I, Ye Qilan, can’t do. A little kitchen can’t hold me back!” Ye Qilan said stubbornly. “Soon, you’ll see me in a completely new light–you’ll be begging me to cook for you every day!”
