Chapter 1361: Chapter 1361: Human or Ghost (5)
Su Hongxing really found herself at a loss for words, cornered by Ye Qilan.
After all, it was because of her that Ye Qilan decided to try cooking. This man, who used to think stepping into the kitchen was akin to stepping into a battlefield, now took the initiative to cook–definitely progress.
“As you said, you’re a man focused on big ambitions. These small tasks should be left to us women,” Su Hongxing softened her tone, unwilling to criticize Ye Qilan any further.
“This isn’t a small task. Anything involving you is a monumental task. I’m practicing. Trust me, when you come home tonight, you’ll enjoy a delicious meal. Wife, I’ll hang up now…”
“Ye Qilan, wait, aren’t you going to work today?” Su Hongxing asked incredulously.
“Today, I’m staying home with the kids, practicing cooking, and experiencing your routine,” Ye Qilan didn’t forget to express his love for Su Hongxing: “Wife, I love you.”
Ye Qilan’s sudden confession caused Su Hongxing’s face to flush deep red.
By the time she composed herself, she realized Ye Qilan had already hung up. She couldn’t deny the sweetness blooming in her heart; this sense of happiness was something she hadn’t felt in a long time.
Just then, her work email inbox received another new email.
She had a hunch that this email came from the same person as yesterday’s.
After a moment’s hesitation, she clicked on it. The moment she read its contents, her pupils contracted.
The email address had changed, but the content was much the same as yesterday’s.
She called for Qiao Qiao and showed her the contents of the email: “Xiaoqiao, what do you think I should do?”
Qiao Qiao was still reading the contents when the email revealed only a single line: “Amou, I miss you. Do you miss me?”
A single short line, yet enough to send chills down one’s spine. Not just Su Hongxing feeling panicked–it was terrifying even to Qiao Qiao.
“Why not tell Ye Qilan about this?” Qiao Qiao suggested hesitantly.
Su Hongxing shook her head and replied, “I can’t tell him. He’s always so protective of me. If he knew, I’m afraid he’d lock me away in Qingmu Garden, not letting me step foot outside.”
“Then what do we do? If the person keeps sending these messages every day, it’s truly creepy,” Qiao Qiao said, feeling goosebumps on her arms.
The scariest thought was if the one sending the emails was another Ye Qilan. If that were true, how would Su Hongxing even choose?
Both Ye Qilans were deeply devoted to Su Hongxing. One was willing to die to protect her, while the other had waited for her across two lifetimes. There was simply no way to choose.
“Let’s wait. If there really is such a person, they’ll reveal themselves eventually.” Whenever Su Hongxing mentioned this matter, she couldn’t remain calm.
For now, she had no idea who was sending her those emails. If it truly was Ye Qilan, he’d surely show himself one day to explain.

But this person, playing coy in such a mysterious way, made it impossible for her to guess. All she could do was wait.
“Yesterday, you were still extremely anxious, and today you’ve figured things out?” Qiao Qiao noticed the shift in Su Hongxing’s attitude and found it surprising.
“It doesn’t matter whether I’ve figured it out or not. Since the person hasn’t appeared, fretting over possibilities serves no purpose.” After a moment, Su Hongxing asked again, “Xiaoqiao, do you think the one sending me emails could be Ye Qilan?”
Qiao Qiao thought for a moment before replying, “All signs point to Ye Qilan being the one sending you these messages, don’t they?”
Su Hongxing, however, was unconvinced: “There are quite a few people who know my nickname, and just as many who know about Ye Qilan’s past ‘death.’ That’s why, after analyzing their words repeatedly, I feel like I might be overthinking. Maybe someone deliberately targeted my psyche and is using this to mess with me.”
