Chapter 1473: Chapter 1390: Saw the Ending

Throughout the whole day, the aircraft of the Great Tang Empire circled endlessly over Winterless Port. They destroyed the airport of Winterless City, bombed four nearby radar stations, and also attacked almost all high-value targets within the city.

It wasn’t until the evening that the Dorne side finally realized what was happening; they confirmed that they had suffered a fierce attack from the Great Tang Empire.

Subsequently, the upper levels of Dorne hoped to figure out what exactly they had lost, but it was deep into the night before they could tally up the day’s losses.

First, their radar system near Dorne was completely destroyed, with only one unused backup radar surviving, while the remaining radar stations were all reduced to ruins.

Secondly, three cruisers and five destroyers anchored nearby were sunk. At the time of their sinking, communication had already been disrupted, so no message reached Dorne.

Furthermore, the telephone bureau, radio systems, and the military command center within Dorne City were all hit by missile attacks, resulting in countless losses of officers and technical personnel. All communication was paralyzed, almost beyond restoration.

Finally, the large air force base built by Dorne outside Winterless City, with ten runways and nearly 300 various types of aircraft deployed, was attacked by aircraft from the Great Tang Empire and completely lost its function.

Hundreds of aircraft were damaged, and the fire on the scene wasn’t fully extinguished until the next day. Until the Great Tang Empire’s fleet left, Dorne had not been able to launch a single aircraft to join the battle.

Indeed, after fiercely attacking Dorne’s Winterless Port for a day, the Great Tang Empire’s fleet departed. They took a northward route and several days later attacked another port in Dorne, causing Dorne to lose another 10 ships of various types, dozens of aircraft, two airports, and seven or eight radar stations.

Even after becoming more vigilant, and attempting to bring more radar into function, Dorne was still defeated, unable even to mount a counterattack.

There was no choice. Fearing a continued assault by the Tang Army, several hundred thousand Dorne troops were forced to fortify the coastline defenses. However, their role was quite limited, as the Great Tang Empire had no intention of landing in Dorne.

More than ten days later, a Qin Country submarine slowly surfaced off the coast of Dorne. After cautiously traveling for a long time and nearly exhausting its fuel and supplies, the submarine arrived at Winterless Port in Dorne.

On the submarine, Sun Guang, with a beard covering his face, was almost going mad. He seldom went to sea, and traveling on such a small-tonnage submarine, the turbulence made him doubt his existence.

Although he was indeed a naval officer, he was not really a qualified naval officer. Mike Ravel was apparently better off than he was, though he too was about to become emaciated.

They had been drifting at sea for over a month, escaping from Qingluan Port all the way to here. To avoid the Great Tang Empire’s navy, they often remained submerged.

Who knows what they had experienced; the air quality in the old-style submarine was simply indescribable. Even a mere fart could cause chaos inside the submarine.

Although Qin Country’s submarine technology was from the Great Tang Empire, it was ultimately from an early stage and quite outdated in all aspects. The submarine managing to bring them safely to Dorne was already quite the feat.

Sun Guang, visiting Dorne for the first time, saw for the first time so many foreigners with blond hair and blue eyes. However, the theoretically bustling Winterless Port of Dorne was now in ruins.

Mike Ravel could hardly believe his own eyes. While whiling away the time in the submarine, he had boasted to Sun Guang about the grandeur and splendor, wealth and prosperity of Winterless City.

Yet, as he stood on the deck of the submarine, gradually approaching the dock of Winterless City, he saw a city still smoking and nobles and merchants crowding outside the dock warehouses looting goods.

A wealthy businessman waved a piece of paper in his hand, shouting loudly: “Make way! This is my proof! The rice, all of it is mine! It’s mine!”

“Get lost! What do you mean yours! I’m an Earl, you lowly thing!” another man dressed in luxurious clothes shouted loudly, accompanied by his butler, who was trying hard to push away the crowd of commoners.

The commoners were also desperately pushing forward, shoving aside the guards trying to stop them, hoping to grab something to put their minds at ease.

They were eager to buy rice, flour, grains, vegetables, and meat… In short, they hoped to buy everyday essentials to prove that Winterless City was still a habitable place.

What once seemed like a distant war was now right before them. The Lord’s Mansion was unable to control the huge city, especially without telephones–the guards, without effective command, could only waste precious strength futilely throughout the city.

The City Lord, reliant on cars to send messages, was also forced to first stabilize his stronghold: with difficulty, he gathered some soldiers and set up positions outside his Lord’s Mansion, somewhat restoring order in the vicinity.

But the subsequent chaos continued, and everyone knew that such chaos would still persist for a while. Everyone also knew that Winterless City, this time… would most likely be ruined.

The Great Tang Empire Navy’s strike capability, evidenced in the airstrike over ten days ago, indicated that Winterless City was practically a place they could visit at will in the absence of any countermeasures.

The port would soon become useless, and Winterless City’s proud maritime trade and shipbuilding industry would soon be destroyed and paralyzed… everything the residents of Winterless Port, once proud of being established by the Great Tang Group, would all turn to ruin.

In these ten days, neither the Dorne Empire nor Winterless City has demonstrated any ability to resist the assaults of the Great Tang Empire.

As such, panic has continued, with chaos incessantly spreading. Sun Guang saw the crowd scrambling for supplies on the dock and the endless stream of cars crowded on the roads.

He saw the bombed telephone bureau building and the Lord’s Mansion surrounded by soldiers. He felt like he’d seen a lot, including Dorne’s defeat and the outcome of this war.

Everything was very clear: Dorne was not much better than Qin Country, both were losers, or rather, soon-to-be-losers…. Very soon, the Great Tang Empire would be at Dorne’s doorstep, and the Great Qin Empire would just perish a bit sooner than Dorne…
