Mr. Rong’s Lovelorn Diary - Chapter 37 - You felt what?
A blushing face and raised heartbeats were the basic etiquette that Rong Yi had always maintained for a handsome Alpha of the right age.
“If there is any need… Well, if you want to talk, why don’t we change to another place first?” The man said to Li Xiaoran, who seemed most emotional there.
Rong Yi took a quick look at the badge on his chest. It had two characters that meant ‘manager’ in front of his name. Probably he was just passing by, afraid that the guests might suddenly get into a fight, so he must have hurried over to try to stop it.
Li Xiaoran obviously didn’t want to make a fuss about it. He glared at Rong Yi and turned around, leaving the trolley behind. The Omega next to him hesitated for a moment, but followed with the child in his arms. After two steps, he looked back at Rong Yi, but didn’t say anything in the end.
So Rong Yi was left there alone, together with that supermarket manager who was fascinatingly good-looking.
“Thank you for that,” Rong Yi took the initiative. “I was really frightened just now.”
“Sure,” the manager shook his head with a smile, then looked at the shopping trolley left by the family and sighed. “This old boy has some temper. Did you accidentally bump into each other?

Rong Yi immediately nodded, “Yes!”
He wanted to chat a little more, but unfortunately the other one didn’t have that kind of leisure.
“Good that you were not hurt. You can always find a uniformed salesman or myself if you need to,” he said, raising his hand and pushing the shopping that fully-laden trolley. “I will not hold you up from your shopping then.”
He pushed the trolley away, most likely to return everything back to their shelves.
Rong Yi stood and looked at him for a while, then sighed in his heart.
He looked very handsome, and had a good personality. It must be a great pleasure to be with such an Alpha.
Unfortunately, there was no chance to continue to chat with him. Besides, he had to rush back to cook for Chen Keyao.
Chen Keyao was not at home when Rong Yi got back.
Yesterday at dinner, Sister Lan said she was going to help prepare for the wedding, so she couldn’t come today. Rong Yi didn’t know if Chen Keyao, a big idler, had gone to help. But since there was no further notice, he should be coming back for dinner.
Rong Yi was busy working in the kitchen for a while when there came the sound of door opening.
Then someone came into the kitchen.
“Wow, smells good!” Chen Keyao, with his coat still on, walked up to him. “What are we having today?”
“Belt fish,” said Rong Yi, reaching out to knock off Chen Keyao’s claws. “This one has not been fried thoroughly yet. It needs to be cooked again. You’ll get diarrhoea if you eat it now.”
Chen Keyao rubbed the back of his beaten hand: “… I’m a little hungry.”
“Wash your hands first,” Rong Yi ordered him, “and then wait in the living room.”
His landlord went out obediently.
Feeding Chen Keyao could bring a magical sense of satisfaction.
Although this guy was picky about food, he was especially easy to satisfy when one found out what he liked. He would enjoy eating whatever simple things cooked for him and never be stingy with praise.
“You make better dishes,” Chen Keyao held the bowl in a good mood. “I really went back to the pre-liberation days when Sister Lan came here cooking. Next time you have to give her a chance to try your cooking.”
Such an unfilial son.
“Sister Lan came here to cook especially for us yesterday. You shouldn’t have not eaten anything even if her cooking was not agreeable with your taste.” Rong Yi educated him.
Chen Keyao took a look at him, put some food into his mouth, and said nothing.
Rong Yi thought for a moment and asked, “Where have you been these afternoons?”
Chen Keyao swallowed the food in his mouth and said, “I’m not telling you.”
Rong Yi squinted at him: “… Just forget about it then.”
Chen Keyao suddenly laughed. He looked up at Rong Yi and said, “I suddenly felt…”
“What?”
“… Forget it, it’s nothing. “Chen Keyao shook his head and continued to eat.
“Why do you always say things in half?” he kicked Chen Keyao under the table. “You felt what?”
“There are delicious dishes waiting for me as soon as I get home, and I’m questioned about everything,” Chen Keyao said without looking at him. “How come it doesn’t feel like that I’ve got a roommate, but instead a wife?”
“…”
Chen Keyao finally looked at him and said, “Do you feel this way too?”
“Eat your food,” said Rong Yi. “Why do you talk so much?”
If it had not been Chen Keyao who said such things, Rong Yi would have played the marriage march in his heart already.
Suddenly he began to regret. Just now in the supermarket, he should have been a bit brazen and asked the Alpha for contact details. Maybe he would have succeeded. They could start with a friendship. Even if the final confession was rejected, it was at least a temporary spiritual sustenance.
Better than now, letting this bastard of Chen Keyao run around in his brain all the time.
Rong Yi returned to his room, still unable to stop recalling the fragments of the scenario just now. He lay on the bed and rolled around, then simply buried his head under the pillow, feeling totally restless.
Then he suddenly remembered one thing.
He had wanted to find out what Chen Keyao wrote about, but he had forgotten about it due to his sudden illness.
Rong Yi took out his mobile phone and opened the browser. He accidentally entered the historical record, so he saw the previous forum immediately. He subconsciously clicked in, the account was still logged in after the page was refreshed, and a small pop-up window was flashing in the corner of the screen.
After clicking on it, he saw a private message.
“Sorry, the post was locked so I can’t reply to you directly. Thank you for reminding me. I’m sorry that your replies have been banned. In fact, I went to see a doctor, hoping to improve as soon as possible.”
The date of this private message was the day after Rong Yi’s reply.
It had been a while now. Rong Yi hesitated for a moment and then sent him a message.
“I’m sorry I only just read your private message. Actually, I have a friend who has a very similar problem to yours, so I want to find out more about it for him. Has your situation improved now?”
The system showed that person as offline. Rong Yi decided to come online here every day to check.
After that, he went onto the search engine to send a request for help. He asked who was the writer who had published the third book of a series a year and a half ago, and then there was no follow-up books.
A few hours later, when Rong Yi refreshed the page again, there were already three replies. One of them was recommending his own online serial works, while the other two provided the same answer.
“What you mentioned should be the third book of the ‘Seeking the Dragon’ series by Dreams of the Blue Mountains.”
Rong Yi was shocked, searched again, and then started pondering. The “dragon” series were exactly what he saw in Chen Keyao’s room the other day. Rong Yi did not like to follow the ongoing works, so he had only read the first two completed books. But he had also heard about the third one.
The author of these books quickly became popular in the early days of his career. Rong Yi’s peers had all seen the adapted TV dramas and films of the first book, even if they had not read the book. At the time, there had been several games under the same name which were also hugely popular.
Soon afterwards, the author wrote the second book, which was written in a fair and square manner. Although the style of writing was a lot more mature and confident, compared to the first book’s unrestrained and vigorous style that had caught everybody’s eyes, this one was much more commonplace.
However, the third book, which had not yet been completed, was widely praised at the beginning of its publication, and was even rated by many people as better than the first one. So the first volume was compiled immediately, and the sales went through the roof. After that, the second volume came out quickly, and the climax of the plot made readers unable to stop. However, after that, for reasons unknown, the author was becoming slower and slower at producing updates. The third book were much delayed and the quality was very worrying. The most popular protagonists in the first two books changed their personalities in a seriously damaging way—from talented and romantic to obscene, which solicited tides and waves of negative reviews.
And then the fourth book. Well, it didn’t turn up at all.
There was no lack of crying among the readers, with some speculating about whether or not the writer had made so much money that he was now totally indulging himself in enjoyments without any no intention to create more works.
After collecting all this information from various encyclopaedias, Rong Yi was lost in thought.
Was this “Dream of the Blue Mountains” and Chen Keyao really the same person? But as was widely known, this ‘dream’ writer was a famous female beauty. Although she never attended any activities publicly and only gave silhouette photos, all the people who had met her in person praised her graceful appearance, including many well-known writers. Could it be all nonsense?
Moreover, as for Chen Keyao’s image, it was hard to imagine that he would give himself a pen name called “dream” something. That was just scary.
Rong Yi decided to wait for his project work to come to an end, and then would read the third part of “Seeking the Dragon” to see if there was a clue.
.
Sister Lan did not come for several days. At the weekend, it was Rong Yi’s business time for pretending to be a boyfriend again.
The wedding of the stepson from the second marriage of the landlord’s mother sounded totally irrelevant, but since he had promised to go, he must take it seriously.
It took Rong Yi half a day to choose the right clothes and then he went to the bathroom to create a hairstyle in front of the mirror. He was confident that the finished look was perfect.
Chen Keyao, who watched the whole process, was amazed.
“I haven’t seen you like this in a long time.” He said.
After all, although Rong Yi was also fastidious about his appearance when going to work, he would not dress up so seriously. And at other times, he was dressed even more casually in front of Chen Keyao, occasionally even a little sloppy.
“People might even think you are going there to snatch the bride away from the bridegroom.” Chen Keyao examined him up and down several times. “But this look does do me proud.”
Rong Yi ignored him.
This man always liked to talk nonsense. He had almost got used to that now. But lately, there was often a sentence or two that made him feel particularly weird.
Rong Yi secretly told himself that Chen Keyao had no brains and said nothing worth pondering. Never think too much about it.
When they arrived at the wedding reception hall, they saw the new couple standing at the door and taking pictures with the guests.
Rong Yi was just about to walk over when Chen Keyao grabbed his arm.
“Well, do you remember who you’re supposed to be today?”
Rong Yi certainly remembered. But he didn’t spell it out, but asked instead, “So what?”
“Uh-hemm.” Chen Keyao cleared his throat, grabbed Rong Yi’s hand, adjusted position to have their fingers entwined, and then dragged him forward as if nothing unusual had happened.
Rong Yi was somewhat stunned, totally confused and not knowing what to do, so he was dragged along like that to the new couple all the way.
The new couple were both male. It was pretty easy to tell from their appearances that one was Beta and the other was Omega. Rong Yi later realized that he had no idea which one was Chen Keyao’s half-brother.
Fortunately, he didn’t have to speak on his own initiative.
As soon as the Omega of the new couple saw the man next to him, he waved his hand and took a few steps forward.
“Senior, here you are!”
It sounded odd that he addressed Chen Keyao in that way. Rong Yi looked at Chen Keyao beside him, but saw that he was also full of smiles.
“I haven’t seen you for a long time,” he said to the new couple with a smile. “You look very smart today.”
The other one laughed and then his eyes fell on Rong Yi. “So this is the legendary…”
“My partner.” Chen Keyao said.
He looked very natural, and only Rong Yi knew that his fingers cringed as he said these words.
The author’s note:
Chen Keyao’s brother: So this is the legendary…
Chen Keyao: Your sister-in-law.
So can we use the word “sister-in-law” here?

Mo Yufei: Oh, I’ve been waiting for a year.
