Chapter 1184: Chapter 1184: Extra Story of the Eel 21

Actually, when Lu Yuwen spoke earlier, Su Man was briefly taken aback, but she didn’t think too much of it. Their relationship was good, and taking a step closer in terms of how they addressed each other wasn’t unreasonable.

Now that Li Li pointed it out directly, it felt a bit like he was drunk and making trouble without reason.

Su Man frowned and said, “Don’t make trouble anymore. Go back and rest already–look at how drunk you are!”

Li Li really wasn’t feeling well, and since Su Man was strong, he had no choice but to let her drag him toward the front door of his house. He still muttered about Lu Yuwen: “Who was that guy? A relative of yours?”

“None of your business! He’s a guest at my house!” Su Man answered testily, then pressed the Li Family’s doorbell without further explanation.

Li Li’s mom came out, and upon seeing her son like this, naturally began a round of scolding.

The two worked together to get Li Li inside. His mom then apologized to Su Man, saying, “Manman, I’m really sorry again for the trouble my Li Li has caused… Sigh, this kid doesn’t tell the family anything, and he gets moody when we ask him too many questions. Only you can get through to him.”

Su Man thought to herself: He’s just as moody with me.

But she couldn’t say that out loud, so she forced a smile and replied, “It’s fine, Auntie… I’ll head back now.”

“Oh, sure, go get some rest then.” Li Li’s mom turned to her son, “Get up already, stop lying around! Go change out of those clothes. Do you want some water? Should I make you some hangover tea?”

“Please don’t. Last time you made it, it tasted awful…” Li Li swayed as he stood, holding his head as he headed to his room. “I was just a little dizzy before, but after drinking your tea, I wanted to throw up even more…”

Worried, his mom followed behind him, nagging him the whole way. “If you know you can’t handle alcohol, don’t drink so much, alright? Are you feeling terrible now? Sigh, how much did you even drink…”

Su Man walked to the door and glanced back at Li Li. She sighed lightly and then turned around to head home.

…

Lu Yuwen was no longer in the yard.

When Su Man entered the house, he was standing by the water dispenser, slightly leaning forward, holding a clear glass cup in his hand. He filled the cup about two-thirds full with water, then walked over and handed it to her.

Su Man paused for a moment and took the cup instinctively. She had assumed he was pouring water for himself, but unexpectedly, it was meant for her…

“It’s so hot today, and you must be tired after running around. I noticed you haven’t had a sip of water,” Lu Yuwen said.

“Thank you…” Su Man took a slow sip. The water was warm and flowed gently down her throat, making her feel comfortable.

“Girls should drink warm water regularly. Don’t go for cold drinks just because they feel refreshing–they’re not good for your health,” Lu Yuwen said with a smile, humorously adding, “Am I sounding like an old nag?”

Su Man’s face flushed. She quickly waved her hand, “No, no…”

Lu Yuwen continued, “Earlier, when I called you Manman, it seemed to upset your friend a bit.”

Mentioning Li Li again, Su Man shook her head. “Don’t mind him. He drank too much and isn’t thinking clearly.”

“So, can I keep calling you that from now on?” Lu Yuwen asked.

Without thinking, Su Man nodded immediately, “Sure.”

But as soon as she agreed, her heart skipped a beat. She recalled Lu Yuwen calling her “Manman” earlier and hesitated again. Considering they had only known each other for two days, wasn’t the nickname… maybe… a little… too… intimate?

But she’d already agreed–there was no turning back now, was there?

Su Man, normally direct and straightforward, found herself strangely timid and hesitant around Lu Yuwen. She second-guessed herself and overthought things, which wasn’t like her at all…

Maybe it was because they weren’t close enough yet, so she couldn’t be as at ease as she was with her family and friends?

She silently analyzed her feelings within her heart.

“Manman.”

Su Man froze and looked up at Lu Yuwen.

With a gentle expression, Lu Yuwen said, “Tomorrow, once I receive my temporary ID, I’ll move to a hotel. Staying at your house these past two days must have been a bother. I apologize for the inconvenience.”
