Four Sisters From Nowhere - Chapter 19
Kaiden was deep in confusion when someone knocked on his door rapidly.
“Kaiden, open the door!”
‘Why so impatient? Did I offend her ancestors?’
Kaiden locked his phone screen before walking to the door to open it to see Alexandra huffing with annoyance.
Alexandra stood outside the door with a poker face and she stared at Kaiden with a hint of annoyance.
“Alex? What’s up?” Kaiden raised a smile and asked calmly.

Alexandra pushed him out of the way and entered the room before closing the door forcefully.
“Are you hiding something from me?”
She stared straight into Kaiden’s eyes and imposed an overbearing tension over him.
‘Did she find out already?’
Kaiden twirled his eyes and asked pretentiously, “What can I hide from you? Besides, don’t you know everything about me already?”
Alexandra suppressed her emotions and continued staring at her without any emotion, “How did we treat you since you came to this house? I’ve always treated you like family. We have been seeing you as our own although the girls have some opinions about you.”
“However, I can’t help but notice that you’re not doing the same to us. Are you going to keep hiding from me if I didn’t notice something today?”
“Hmm?”
Alexandra stared at him with a brow raised with a hint of disappointment in her eyes.
Kaiden maintained an innocent face. ‘Why is she talking about family? Are things that serious?’
“But there’s nothing!”
“Your actions are saying something else!”
Alexandra shouted angrily. She looked disappointed and she became overwhelmed with sadness.
She had been treating him whole-heartedly and she even gave him Tweet Streaming. However, it seemed like he never even saw them as his family.
“Alex, is there some kind of misunderstanding between us?”
“Misunderstanding? Don’t you think that you have been acting too cool for the past few days?” asked Alexandra.
Kaiden understood immediately. He thought something happened but Alexandra was only overreacting because of his composure for the past few days.
Complex emotions hit him.
“You might not understand how a man thinks. My father has been telling me since I was young that I shouldn’t accept wealth from an unknown source no matter what. You transformed me into a prince from a pauper suddenly. I was extremely surprised, but I know that the fortune doesn’t belong to me because I didn’t earn it with my own hands.”
“All I’m doing now is help managing Tweet Streaming for you, I have never assumed that the company is mine.”
For him, he only changed a working environment and job position so there was nothing to be in awe of.
“Is that really how you think?”
Alexandra’s emotions calmed down because of Kaiden’s explanation.
Kaiden continued, “Moreover, even if you sincerely mean to give the company to me, others might not think the same. Therefore, it was not a big deal for me because I prefer achieving something by my own effort.”
He believed that an unexpected fortune would be pulled back sooner or later.
“I’m sorry, I misunderstood you. I shouldn’t think of you that lowly when your thoughts are noble.”
Ashamed of her crudeness, Alexandra looked at Kaiden guiltily.
“But Tweet is yours. I already said that I’m giving it to you.”
“Tweet will never be affected no matter what happens in the future. Its transactions and accounts are all yours. You don’t have to feel owed, you deserve it.”
Alexandra stared at him with a solemn expression. She was grateful to be able to talk things out with him.
Otherwise, she would never have known what Kaiden had been thinking.
She blamed herself for not explaining to him better or he might not have such a mindset.
“Uhh…” Kaiden scratched a strand of hair near his forehead helplessly.
“To be honest, managing a company isn’t my forte, not to mention it’s a livestreaming company, it is a field that I’ve never dwelled in. I’d feel guilty if I ruin it by accident.”
“If you are not confident just because of this, that’s not necessary. Don’t worry, our family is capable of keeping a company afloat, just do whatever you want.” Alexandra beat her chest as a gesture of guarantee. “I will cover you if something happens.”
“Besides, your daily expenses will be on the company since it is yours. You can’t go back to the way you used to since you moved into our house. Otherwise, people will think that we’re mistreating you.”
“Fine! I’m not going to decline anymore since you said so.”
He would look pretentious if he kept rejecting.
He could clearly sense Alexandra’s fondness. At least she genuinely treated him as her own in the family.
He did not expect others to do the same, especially Yvonne.
She had been picking on him and coming up with weird ideas despite their similar age.
Based on his relationship with the girls, Yvonne excluded, he figured that he should try to get closer to Jazmine. After all, the more people he had around him, the louder his voice would be in the house.
He was in an awkward position and he figured that they would think that he was being pretentious if he treated them well.
“I guess that’s it. Okay, I’m going downstairs to force the brat to work out.”
“Remember, you are now a member of the family. You must voice out if you need anything!”
Alexandra left his room joyfully without turning back.
She returned to her room for not even a minute and two of her sisters came to knock on her door.
“Alex, how was it? What’s the situation now?”
They stared at Alexandra with curiosity with bulging eyes bulged.
“I didn’t find anything suspicious, there wasn’t any ambiguity in his reaction. Perhaps we’re really overthinking.”
Yvonne looked at her sister who clearly trusted Kaiden and said meaningfully, “Alex, please don’t tell me that you’re fooled by his pretense!”
“Even I can’t be this calm and composed if I get a surprise fortune.”
“How about we find a professional psychologist to test him out?”
Curiosity clawed on Yvonne’s mind non-stop like a cat.
Alexandra refused to keep making trouble out of nothing, “Why are you assuming everyone to be bad people? You must’ve read too many suspense books.. Time reveals everything, it’s just a matter of time before we find out his true colors.”
