Chapter 1167: Volume 7 Across the Human World Chapter 1163: Return to the Old Place

“The piece I hold in my hand, is it from the inner thirty-six pages or from the outer seventy-two pages of the Jade Book?” Han Li asked as he touched the jade medallion with his other hand, seeing the silver runes flash mysteriously, no longer able to contain his curiosity.

“The outer pages are written in Silver Toad Script, and the inner pages in Golden Seal Script, a script rarely known to many,” the child did not answer directly but spoke with a smile that seemed half mocking.

“Silver Toad Script, that means this is an outer page, and just a fragment at that?”

Han Li did not show much disappointment upon hearing this. He seemed indifferent. Even if the Golden Palace Jade Book was as inconceivably mystical as the other party boasted, it was too far-fetched for someone like him who didn’t even know if he could advance to Divinity Transformation as a cultivator from the human world. To him, there was no difference between the inner and outer pages.

He was not about to consider cultivating in the spirit realm just yet.

The child glanced at Han Li’s face, seemingly perceiving his thoughts, and chuckled lightly with a smile:

“In fact, for your current realm, obtaining an outer page of the Jade Book is quite good. If it were an inner page, without the cultivation of the Void Stage, even thinking about cultivation would be futile. After all, Immortal Secret Techniques inherently involve manipulating the Qi of heaven and earth, which truly belongs to the grand Dao. Only at the middle realm among the three major realms can one truly manipulate this Qi. Even cultivators at the Divinity Transformation are merely peeking through the gate, and cultivating prematurely would indeed cause great harm. However, the outer pages of the Jade Book do not involve these issues of cultivation techniques. If you can understand even a bit and apply it for yourself, it would still be immensely beneficial. It’s just uncertain what the content of your fragment is, let alone if it’s still understandable being just a half page.”

“I suppose it’s mostly about the art of crafting talismans,” Han Li glanced at the golden talisman in his other hand and speculated.

“That’s not necessarily the case. The Silver Toad Script is unknown to cultivators of the human world. Most likely, Golden Flower Ancestor acquired the Jade Book unintentionally and discovered the mysteries of this script by random use. After all, even mimicking based on an Immortal’s artifact possesses certain unfathomable Divine Skills,” the child shook his head and said.

“Hearing this, if Han Li finds time, he really should study it carefully. Why not teach the Silver Toad Script to me right now?” Han Li suddenly suggested with a blink of his eye.

“No problem? However, I have one condition–if you decipher the Jade Book completely, I would also like to borrow it. After all, our demon race can benefit from the outer pages of the Jade Book as well,” the child bluntly stated his terms.

“No problem! However, you are a cultivator from the spirit realm, far surpassing me in experience and insights. If I can’t get much from it, you must share your insights with me,” Han Li leisurely replied.

“That’s certainly possible. However, both the Silver Toad Script and the Golden Seal Script are also known as True Spirit Script, said to have originated from the True Immortal Realm, and every single rune possesses incredible efficacy. Just imprinting it on ordinary jade slips would definitely cause explosions and destruction. It cannot be taught through conventional spiritual communication either; I can only teach it using the most primitive method, one rune at a time, which will take quite some time,” the child promptly agreed and then explained a few sentences.

“Spending some time is not an issue. It will take at least two months to reach Kui Xing Island, you can teach me slowly during that time.”

Having said this, Han Li flipped his hand, placed the jade medallion back into the wooden box, affixed the Daoist paper talisman, and stored it back into his storage pouch. He then looked at the child transformed from the Heaventide Beast and smiled silently.

The child seeing this, let out a slight, bitter smile.

“Given that, let’s start now. The Silver Toad Script first appeared on some immortal artifacts that were lost from the True Immortal Realm into our spirit realm, then after countless efforts by the powerful ones in our realm, it was gradually sorted out and annotated. The original meaning may vary slightly from the true Immortal interpretation, but I believe it won’t be too far off. I’ll start with the most commonly used talismanic runes, over a hundred of them…” The child’s elderly voice resonated through the streak of light, genuinely beginning to pass on this mystical script to Han Li.

Han Li naturally would not miss this rare opportunity, listening intently to the child’s explanations, and did not hesitate to ask directly whenever there were unclear parts.

The child transformed by the Heaventide Beast also replied patiently without any signs of irritation.

Thus, two months flashed by. When Han Li had learned the Silver Toad Script quite thoroughly from the Heaventide Beast, they finally arrived at the sea region of Kui Xing Island.

On that day, after Han Li listened to the child’s explanation, he quietly contemplated in the streak of light, when suddenly a small black dot appeared on the sea surface ahead.

Han Li peered from afar and suddenly felt an impulse; the streak of light suddenly accelerated, and in the blink of an eye, he reached it.

This turned out to be a small island only about sixty to seventy miles in circumference, which was significantly smaller compared to the many islands Han Li had seen before. Yet,

this tiny island exhibited a faint Spiritual Energy and featured a minute Spirit Vein, albeit one of inferior quality.

Han Li hovered several hundred meters above the island, looking down at a mountain range, his face expressionless but his eyes visibly flickering with profound emotion.

This island was “Minor Expanse Island” where he had once lived.

When he left this island back then, even the Golden Core stage had not been reached, but now as he passed by again, he was already a great cultivator at the Deity Transformation stage. Between then and now, the turn of worldly affairs was unimaginable.

Back when he left the island, though his heart was resolute on the Dao, he never would have imagined that one day he would become a Nascent Soul cultivator!

Han Li quietly lingered in the air for about the duration of a meal, eventually his eyes slowly losing their unusual gleam before turning into a streak of green light, shooting away.

Now that he had arrived at Minor Expanse Island, it meant he was not far from Kui Xing Island either.

Indeed, after half a day Han Li caught sight of the massive silhouette of Kui Xing Island from afar.

But this time, Han Li did not enter through the port in a roundabout way; instead, he picked a desolate, uninhabited spot and, with a flash of brilliance, shot directly towards the protective white mist-like restrictive formation covering the entire island. The result was a loud ‘bang,’ followed by a severe shaking of the nearby light screen.

Yet, relying on his powerful cultivation, Han Li, solely with protective brilliance, forcefully squeezed into the light screen and then calmly controlled his streak of light to escape.

After Han Li flew away for the time it takes to eat a meal, from another direction of the island, several streaks of lights of different colors hastily shot out. Where Han Li had entered, the brilliance converged, and several Foundation Establishment cultivators appeared.

These cultivators looked around near the now remedied light screen, then scattered in search of clues, but found nothing.

Ultimately, they gathered together doubtfully, whispered a few words to each other, then also shot back.

By this time, Han Li was already thousands of miles away, atop a certain mountain peak, where he lowered his streak of light and, raising his hand, suddenly produced a magical disc emitting milky white light.

Han Li opened his mouth, and a burst of blue Spiritual Energy sprayed onto the Array Plate while he muttered incantations.

Immediately, the Array Plate flickered uncertainly with intertwined blue and white lights, becoming dazzlingly bright.

“Swift!”

He extended a finger and lightly tapped the Array Plate, immediately causing the light on its surface to converge, turning it as clear and reflective as a mirror. Within that mirrored surface, a red light blinked on and off.

Seeing this, Han Li nodded with satisfaction and, holding the magical disc in one hand, soared into the sky.

After determining a direction while mid-air, he shot towards the horizon.

A few minutes later, Han Li appeared above a certain part of the island, looking down at a secluded manor with an incredulous gaze.

“Isn’t this the old Gu Clan Manor? How come Wen Siyue and her family are living here?” Han Li murmured, seemingly surprised and somewhat puzzled.

Since Han Li had been hovering so openly over the manor for such a long time, it naturally caused a stir among the ordinary mortals below.

Sometime later, two streaks of light suddenly shot out from several houses below and rapidly reached in front of Han Li. The light then converged, revealing an elderly man and a middle-aged man, both Foundation Establishment cultivators.

“Is it you two?” Han Li glanced at them and frowned.

However, upon clearly seeing Han Li’s features in the sky, the two sported looks of great surprise and hastily stepped forward to pay respects.

“Greetings to Senior Han, the juniors did not know that it was you, Senior, who graced this place. We hope for Senior’s forgiveness!”

These two turned out to be four of Wen Siyue’s Foundation Establishment disciples. They were already aware of Han Li’s status as a great cultivator, and naturally, they behaved extremely cautiously, daring not to show the slightest disrespect.

“Why are you residing here? Where is your master?” Han Li asked directly, expressionless.

“This place belongs to an Unofficial Disciple I have taken in, and thus, we decided to move Master and the others to live here. Master and Madam, finding the place a bit noisy, moved to a temporary cave dwelling alongside a small mountain next to the manor, along with our little junior sister,” the elder respectfully explained.

“Your Unofficial Disciple? The direct heir of the Gu family?” Han Li asked with a hint of perplexity.

“Yes! Senior, you know of the Gu family?” The elder became very nervous.

“The head of the Gu family in old times had some fate with me, but that was over two hundred years ago,” Han Li spoke slowly.

“What? That’s the case?” The elder responded in shock, momentarily at a loss for words.

“Since I am revisiting this old place, it seems I indeed have some fate with the Gu family. I will go see your master first, later bring that Unofficial Disciple of the Gu family to meet me as well,” Han Li ordered unequivocally.

“Yes, junior will definitely obey!” The elder was both shocked and delighted, agreeing repeatedly.

Although he was unaware of what past relations Han Li had with the Gu family, the tone seemed not to be bad.

Han Li nodded, swept the area with his spiritual sense, and quickly located the Qi of Wen Siyue and her family in the nearby mountain. He then transformed into a streak of green light and shot over there. (To be continued. For more content, please log on to www.WebNovel.
