Chapter 1166: Volume 7: Dominating the Human World Chapter 1162: Golden Palace Jade Book
“What do you want to exchange? Surely you won’t teach me the refining formula for nothing?” Han Li asked coldly, without any signs of jubilation.
“I need you to find a way to dispel the assimilation bond with the Heavenvoid Cauldron from me. Additionally, before you pass away or ascend to the Immortal Realm, I require your temporary protection for a while! Although I already possess grade eight cultivation, I have yet to experience the Metamorphosis Tribulation due to staying within the Heavenvoid Cauldron. I fear that I will need to rely on your strength to safely transcend the tribulation. On my own strength, it could be rather dangerous,” the Heaventide Beast stated unreservedly, listing several conditions at once.
“Is that all?” Han Li asked, his expression unchanged.
“If this old one were to make any further demands, I’m afraid you might indeed begin to harbor thoughts of killing me?” the Heaventide Beast chuckled, ‘Hehe.’
“Fine, if it’s just these, I, Han Li, am not opposed to agreeing. However, the matter of dispelling the Heavenvoid Cauldron’s binding must wait until before I pass away or am preparing for Immortal Ascension. Do you have any objections to this?” Han Li weighed the pros and cons briefly before decisively agreeing.
“No problem at all. Your decision is absolutely wise. There’s originally no need for us to battle to the death. And to show my sincerity, this old one can impart the Silver Toad Script to you first,” the Heaventide Beast said, relieved inside, and burst into laughter.
“Even better.” Han Li looked at the golden talisman in hand, accepting it frankly without any reservation.
But then, after thinking it over, he suddenly slapped his waist, and immediately, a green storage pouch appeared in his hand.
It was precisely the storage pouch of the Golden Beetle Ancestor.
Han Li swept his divine sense inside, and immediately, the contents of the pouch were all registered in his mind.
A moment later, he shook the pouch, and a streak of green light flew out from the mouth of the pouch, spraying out several jade slips of various colors.
Han Li immediately began a careful examination of each and every jade slip, scrutinizing the recorded cultivation techniques and secret arts, seemingly having forgotten about the Heaventide Beast inside the cauldron for the time being.
However, the beast was tactful and did not bother Han Li with any interruptions during this time.
After the time it took to eat a meal, Han Li’s eyebrows raised as he withdrew his spiritual sense from the last jade slip, revealing a look of confusion on his face.
He hadn’t found anything related to the golden talisman in his hand from these jade slips.
“Could it be that this talisman wasn’t refined by this person but rather something acquired unintentionally?” Han Li couldn’t help pondering this possibility.
Suddenly his expression shifted, as if he remembered something. He quickly bowed his head, his spiritual sense once again diving into the storage pouch, and immediately locked onto an item.
With a flash of green light, the storage pouch spat out another object.
It turned out to be a half-foot large yellow wooden box, with a Daoist paper talisman affixed to the surface.
Han Li didn’t hesitate, lifted his hand to tear off the talisman, and then opened the lid of the wooden box.
The wooden box slowly opened, revealing an object inside.
It was a fist-sized milky white jade medallion adorned with silver runes that were faintly discernible; the entire surface was covered in Silver Toad Script. The runes were incredibly tiny, yet when swept with divine sense, they were crystal clear.
However, at first glance, the medallion was only half complete, evidently an incomplete artifact.
Han Li was startled. He had not yet taken a closer look when suddenly the silver runes on the surface of the medallion flashed wildly. The medallion jumped violently and transformed into a streak of silver light, shooting away.
Han Li was shocked, but having seen the restriction talismans on the wooden box, he was somewhat alert. So as soon as the silver light shot out a few feet away, he quickly snatched at it with lightning speed.
All five fingers simultaneously emitted a bright green light.
Immediately, the surrounding space made a buzzing sound, like a thunderclap on a clear day. The silver light trembled with the streak of light, meeting resistance, and the jade medallion reappeared in its original form.
Han Li’s face darkened as his fingers clenched together.
Drawn by an immense force, the silver-pointed sword could not resist and shot back uncontrollably, to be caught by Han Li, where it became motionless in his grasp.
“The Golden Palace Jade Book! Impossible, how could such a thing have been lost to this world!” The Heaventide Beast within the Heavenvoid Cauldron sensed the scene and cried out in alarm, its voice trembling slightly.
“Oh? Daoist Tian Lan, you recognize this object?” Han Li’s heart turned cold.
The fact that the spirit realm’s demon cultivator was so perturbed indicated that the origins of the jade medallion were truly extraordinary.
“Impossible, this object couldn’t possibly exist in the human world, with its spirituality how could it willingly stay in a Lower Realm with such thin Spiritual Energy. I understand now, this page of the Jade Book is actually torn, its spirituality nearly exhausted, and thus it has no power to return to the spirit realm. The question is, which great cultivator had the ability to tear the Jade Book, turning it into a torn page?”
The Heaventide Beast seemed not to hear Han Li’s inquiry, muttering to itself incessantly, as if the appearance of this jade medallion in the human world was too shocking for it to handle.
Han Li’s brows furrowed sharply, and he couldn’t help but cough lightly twice.
“Ah, I have lost my composure. This item has just taken me by surprise,” the Heaventide Beast finally regained some senses and explained a few words.
“Seeing Daoist Tian Lan so astonished, this item must really have quite the history. From what you’ve said, it seems to be something that has trickled down from the spirit realm,” Han Li said, his fingers tightly holding the jade medallion, wavering it slowly in front of the Heavenvoid Cauldron as he asked with doubt in his voice.
“Is it merely quite the history? When you find out where this item comes from, you too will be startled. It is not from the spirit realm but something that has been passed down from the True Immortal Realm, a genuine article from the Immortal cultivator.” Suddenly, a flash of green light shone on the surface of the Heavenvoid Cauldron, and a cluster of green light emerged.
Then the cluster of green light condensed and rolled, transforming into a chubby boy about a foot tall, looking to be three or four years old.
But at this moment, the boy had a grim expression, staring intently at the jade medallion in Han Li’s hand with complex eyes that seemed envious and regretful.
Hearing the jade medallion referred to as an Immortal cultivator’s item, Han Li’s expression greatly changed. But upon seeing the boy materialize, he was shocked and then immediately relaxed.
This was just the Heaventide Beast using a little Spiritual Energy from the cauldron to create a human figure outside of it. Its true body was unable to leave the Heavenvoid Cauldron without him personally lifting the restriction. His attention then returned to focus on the so-called “Golden Palace Jade Book.”
“An item of Immortal cultivators! Haven’t I misheard?” Han Li looked at the jade medallion in his hand, somewhat skeptical.
“Relative to the True Immortal Realm, the Barrier Dividing Force between our spirit realm and your human world is much smaller. Having Immortal items occasionally fall into our spirit realm, what’s so strange about that? However, the name of this Golden Palace Jade Book is far too significant, which is why I lost my composure,” said the Heaventide Beast with a sigh.
“Oh, if Daoist Tian Lan is willing, could you tell me more about this item?” Han Li pondered for a moment before speaking slowly.
“Why not! The reputation of this item among the human races in the spirit realm is so well-known that it’s almost common knowledge. It’s hardly a secret. Speaking of this book, we have to start from the Immortal of the True Immortal Realm. Although our spirit realm often has some stuff belonging to Immortals due to various reasons, falling into our human world, few of these treasures are genuinely useful. Furthermore, as far as our records go in the spirit realm, for some unknown reason, Immortals have almost never descended into our realm. The reason we say almost is that a long time ago, there was an Immortal’s Corpse that appeared in the spirit realm. This Golden Palace Jade Book was found on that corpse. Supposedly, there were originally 108 pages, each detailing a different Immortal Secret Technique. Among them, the inner thirty-six pages are the most important, capturing some principles of inhalation and exhalation of cultivation, encompassing some cultivation incantations and the Divine Skills of some Profound Heaven transformations. The outer seventy-two pages, however, cover a wide range of subjects, including Talisman Array Methods, Pill Refining and Artifact Crafting, and the like.”
The boy spoke with envy, paused for a moment, and then continued:
“The inner thirty-six pages are of the utmost importance. Though the outer seventy-two pages seem the most miscellaneous, those which can be directly used are actually few, because whether it be pill refining, talisman making, Artifact Refining, or forming arrays, most of the materials listed are unheard of and at best can serve as a reference for research. Hence, apart from a few pages, the outer seventy-two pages of the Jade Book are more showy than substantial. The major dispute that swept through the spirit realm back then was mainly for the inner thirty-six pages of the book. However, these pages, after changing hands through countless years, only seven or eight pages are known to remain, but almost every cultivator who obtained a page from the book and accomplished something in their cultivation became an impressive figure among the humans. Even if they cannot be ranked alongside the Three Sovereigns, they could shelter a land and rule a region. More enticingly, in the last hundred thousand years in the spirit realm, the cultivators who have ascended the Great Dao and ultimately ascended to the Immortal realm are said to have cultivated from these pages of the Jade Book. Whether this is true or not, it’s enough to drive your human cultivators mad.”
“Human Cultivator? How so, have all these Jade Books fallen into the hands of our humans?” Han Li initially listened dumbfounded, but by the end, he sensed something amiss and was somewhat astonished.

“Hehe. In the beginning, our demon race also participated in the contention for the thirty-six pages of the Golden Palace Jade Book. But soon after, the senior demon cultivators who got hold of it discovered that the cultivation techniques in these books were only suitable for human Cultivators to cultivate and use. When we demons cultivate the Divine Skills from the book, it either had no effect or caused major cultivation losses, and some even exploded and died. After some trials, our demon race completely gave up on the contention for the Jade Book. Though the pages were exceedingly precious, to us demons, they were of no use. However, the Immortal’s Corpse back then was also of human form. The fact that the Jade Book was created specifically for humans is not too surprising,” the child said with great regret.
“I see! But since no Immortals had descended into the spirit realm originally, how could you cultivators of the spirit realm know that the corpse was indeed an Immortal’s? It might have been the remains of some great Divine Power cultivator, right?” Han Li stroked his chin, pondering thoughtfully.
“That, I am not sure of. This happened a long time ago when I had not yet gained the Dao and opened my spiritually wise mind, so how could I know the events of that time? However, with so many great cultivators from both Human and Demon Races of that time identifying it to be an Immortal’s Corpse, they most likely wouldn’t make a mistake,” the child said, looking puzzled and hesitated in his response after furrowing his brow.
