A Glitch in the Entertainment Industry - Chapter 21: Couple Mugs
An Wen loosened up once she had started eating.
“Aunt Liu, your sweet and sour pork ribs just keep tasting better.” An Wen praised the older woman’s cooking as she ate.
“Really? I’m glad you enjoy it, miss.” Aunt Liu beamed with satisfaction.
When Chu Qichen noticed that the girl had a delighted and pleased look on her face, he asked, “Is it really that tasty?”
There was a serious look on An Wen’s face when she turned to him and nodded. Next, she reached forward and used her chopsticks to grab a piece for him.
Suddenly, Aunt Liu’s smile as because she knew that Chu Qichen disliked it when other people gave him food. Previously, Chu Qichen brought a different young woman to the villa. When she took the food for him, he immediately asked for his bowl of rice to be changed.

Chu Qichen was slightly shocked now. He looked at An Wen’s little oily mouth while she happily chewed the meat and said, “Here, try one.”
The pork ribs in his bowl seemed unbelievably delicious when he looked at the way An Wen was eating. Chu Qichen used his chopsticks to pick up the rib in his bowl before he sending it into his mouth.
Aunt Liu was watching them, but she was not worried anymore. She narrowed her eyes and smiled; her gaze shifting back and forth between An Wen and Chu Qichen.
When she found out that Chu Qichen would spend the night at the villa, Aunt Liu was so overjoyed that she hummed while she was sweeping.
After her shower, An Wen put on her nightgown and browsed through Weibo to familiarize herself with the other actors and the crew. The male lead, Xia Wei, was a celebrity who was currently extremely popular. Aside from being a hot topic, he also ranked first on the Influential Celebrity Board. Meanwhile, the female lead, Ye Xiaoxing, was an experienced actress who had previously won the Eagle Goddess award. Furthermore, she was also highly praised by the public. Unfortunately, her last drama did not do well while her movie that was recently aired in the cinemas did not achieve the desired results either. Hence, she desperately wanted to act in a drama that would turn the tides.
The fans were in an uproar when those two actors were officially announced as part of the cast. Basically, Ye Xiaoxing’s fans could not understand why she took on the role of the female lead of a drama where the male lead played a much bigger part. There was no need for someone with her experience and popularity to take on the role of a female lead who had so few scenes.
……
However, An Wen immediately understood Ye Xiaoxing’s plan once she had read the script. Most of the novel’s original fans would already be excited about the drama. Furthermore, the script had been edited, and numerous investors were backing the project. The roles were also spectacular, and the renowned director Ye Qiaofeng would be directing the drama, working side-by-side with the popular A-list actor Xia Wei. The stars were aligned, and everything would work out in Ye Xiaoxing’s favor. She would definitely still be highly praised for her smaller role.
The beautiful B-list actress named Lu Maner was planning a minor role. She portrayed herself as a pure and innocent girl when she debuted, and her fans referred to her as their first love as she spoke in a gentle and sweet manner.
When she recalled Lu Maner whom she met in the dressing room, An Wen could not understand why the other woman needed to portray herself that way. She wondered how Lu Maner managed to endure it for so many years.
There was another person named Zhou Jingyin who was playing a smaller role. This woman was a singer and dancer who debuted through a talent competition that was broadcasted as an online variety show. She had a decent fanbase because of her popularity.
An Wen wanted to understand these particular rivals better because she had more scenes with them.
“Knock, knock.” She heard someone knocking on the door from the outside before Aunt Liu shouted, “Miss, please open the door.”
An Wen threw off her blanket, got down from the bed, and put on her shoes. Her eyes were previously glued on her phone all this while, but she briefly glanced at the other women when she opened the door and asked, “Aunt Liu, why are you looking for me at this time of the night?”
“Let’s talk inside!” Aunt Liu narrowed her eyes and smiled. She spoke in an extremely hushed tone because she was afraid that someone else would overhear their conversation. Once she entered the room, she proceeded to close the door.
“What’s the matter?” An Wen asked.
Aunt Liu passed the bag that she was holding to An Wen before the younger girl curiously opened it. She discovered that there were two couple mugs inside, and each mug had half of a heart printed on it.
An Wen’s eyes widened before she asked, “Aunt Liu, what are you trying to do?”
Aunt Liu moved closer to An Wen and whispered, “I noticed that you were looking at these mugs one day. I’m also aware of your feelings toward sir, and I support you!”
The Original Host previously had this stupid idea of giving one of the mugs to Chu Qichen after her confession. However, she was too scared to carry out her plan after that. She never imagined that Aunt Liu would actually notice everything and help her buy the mugs.
